All the way from South Africa the ‘African Art Consultants’ (established 2014) will be showcasing the artworks of investable African artists at the Rotterdam International Art Fair, held 12-13 September 2014 at de Laurenskerk.
Among the represented artists will be well-known Wakaba Mutheki, who has been given the nickname “African Van Gogh” by the media, will be exhibiting a stunning portrait titled “Happy Days” of Nelson Mandala. Artist Ezequiel Mabote and his art portrays his background and symbolizes love. Some of his pieces he describes as ‘spiritual’ art; depicting people going to church and angles. And artist Sharon Kuisis hopes to be able to show the visitors of the Rotterdam International Art Fair the beauty of the African landscape and wildlife in her artworks. She says: “My paintings are not just about reproducing reality, but capturing what I feel.”
Also represented by the African Art Consultants is Patrick Rapai, who specializes in mixed textures, mainly acrylic and oils with the addition of plasters and glue to create a 3rd dimension effect. Patrick has been awarded “Best Painting” Gwenyambira Exhibition, and received an award of merit in the Cottco Exhibition.
Reggie Khumalo, Founder, explains: “African Art Consultants specialises in providing high value investment artwork. Sourcing, nurture and present emerging artists who have the potential for increasing the value of their works and thereby leading to their reputation and success being enhanced. Our art is new and refreshing as the artists is previously undiscovered.”
He continues: “We see the Agency as an international player in the discovery and promotion of hitherto unknown great artists. Thus many collectors seeing value and investment in our nurtured artists. We see ourselves as the Agency to go to for African investment and collectable art. At the present moment we’re mainly focusing the introduction of our artist’s work to corporate clients and providing investment collections.”
The exhibiting artists represented by the African Art Consultants are a talented mixture of painters coming from different areas of Africa; Wakaba Mutheki, Ezequiel Mabote, Sharon Kuisis, Patrick Rapai, Mac Alexander, and Philani Luthuli.
